Number Story of 23  Feb 2010

My story began about 7 or 8 years ago I would say. At first it didn't involve any specific number but it became apparent to me that over a period of time I noticed that when I would look at a digital clock or a timer on a microwave or a speedometer for example, I kept on seeing a sequence of dual numbers. By this I mean that it may be 06.06 on a clock or 14.14 or any combination where the first two digits would repeat. It just got to a point where I thought this really is weird, it happened far too often to be mere coincidence! I must point out that it only ever occurred when I would unconsciously look at a clock or digital instrument, it would never happen when I consciously sought it.

For some time, probably a year or two, I didn't bother with it, I just lived with it and was amused by it. However, about 5 years ago, I was working in my job one night at the bakery. I was alone in the mixing room at the time and was weighing up ingredients on a set of digital scales. On this night my curiosity was aroused again when and I kept noticing the numbers repeating again on the scales. I was wearing a pair of safety ear muffs and was listening to the radio via a pair of earplugs inside my earmuffs. When the numbers sequence became apparent again I remember vividly thinking and saying to myself, "why doesn't this happen when I consciously look for them?"

For some strange and inexplicable reason I was compelled to look at the clock on the wall. I was stunned to say the least [ I am having goosebumps while writing this!!!!] when the clock read 23:23 to the very second. What really freaked me out was the line in the song that I was listening to at the time was " the ghost you hear is me"!!!

I am not a person who has ever placed much credence or belief in psychic stuff. I am a very down to earth person. This episode really affected me. I remember my boss coming into the mixing room shortly after and asking me what was wrong because I was white!!

On the drive home in the morning my trip computer gave a reading of repeating numbers. When I got home I put the TV on and was watching one of the religious programs on early on a Sunday morning and the topic was Revelations 12:12! That particular day has had a profound effect on me and I know that something is going on with these number patterns.

About 2 years after this event I traveled to my hometown about 1000 miles away to attend my sister in laws funeral. She had died suddenly of heart failure and fell asleep in the lounge chair and never woke up. My wife and I stayed at my brother's house for a few days. One night I sat up and was watching TV and my wife Cheryl went to bed. I must have dozed off for a while but I was woken by something, don't know what, and when i looked at the time it was 23:23 again, to the very second. This again gave me the heebie jeebies, as it does now thinking about it. I have no idea what is going on here, I only know that there is something weird happening. To this day I still have these doubling up sequences of numbers but 23 doesn't seem to be significant now. I know a movie was made about 23 and would love to know the motivation for that film. Yesterday I submitted my story about the number 23. It was about 9pm when I wrote my account and submitted it. My wife arrived home from her work at about 11pm and I recounted to her that I had found this website and written my story. Shortly after, she went onto the net checking her Facebook page and I decided to watch a bit of TV. I grabbed the remote and did a search of the programs screening and was pleased to see that a movie I saw many years ago at school was screening again. The movie was "A Man For All Seasons". I switched the channel to watch it and as it had already commenced, I checked to see how long it had been running and was stunned to find that it began screening at 23:23.

I can't explain why but I always had a feeling that the numbers were connected to my father who passed away on New Years Day in 1999. I was very close to him and loved him dearly. Now I think about it I noted that he and my mother were both born in 1923 so maybe that's where the significance for this number arises. I would appreciate any thoughts or feedback from anyone who thinks they can shed some light on this amazing phenomenon. Cheers,

The number 23 is your number, there be no mistaking that!  Mine is 222.  It doesn't matter what is going on, what different route I take or how long it took me to get into the kitchen, or to my computer….at the precise moment that I look, the clock the license plate, the sign or something will be exactly 222.  Your is the same, your numbers are 23.  The movie 23 was a strange one.  I don't believe that that movie depicts the phenomena we all have since we have not been in an asylum! 

However, we do believe this...at some point in the future our numbers will have a reality that we alone will know, something personal to us.  Please, write again anymore instances where 23 initiates.  Our readers love the stories!  Next time you see 23, just know it is your number for whatever reason, you just don't know what, yet!

I have been seeing the number 23 since it was really brought to my attention the day my father past away, 23rd of November 2007. I am 23 years old.

The number never had any significance to me before this event until my sister had pointed it out to me that my mum and dad had got married on 23rd July 1980. I see this number every day in life. Every time i check the time on my phone its 23 minutes past the hour. Its on my bank statements, work payroll number, I have seen it many times on TV, I have looked into it on the internet, there is something about this number
