Story of 117 May 2010
Hi
Since middle school I've seen the number 117 everywhere on just about anything. License plates, serial numbers, time, house
numbers, purchases, movies, signs, phone numbers, raffle numbers, etc. I joke about it, my family and friends do too, and when
they see the number, they make sure to let me know, it's just become the norm. Something neat that happens to me. It happens
so much that I've been a bit desensitized by it, but I still get that little chill every time I see it, even if it is just a time stamp on an email.
The biggest instance was when I read the first novel accompanying the "Halo" games, the main character being "Spartan 117".
I've always thought it cool. I accept it in different forms, such as 1:17 or 11:17, even 711, and that is what intrigues me most.
Today I saw the number and felt prompted to Google "why am I seeing reoccurring numbers?", and there it was.
Stories about 711... I thought it too coincidental to not investigate. As a matter of fact, I JUST checked the clock and it's
11:17am. Maybe that's a sign telling me that I'm going in the right direction by sending this, or the complete opposite, I don't know.
When I use the numbers, for example, in an attempt to gain something in life (lottery, guessing a number, etc.), nothing happens,
so there is no "winning" power behind them, just reoccurrence. This kind of thing is so interesting to me, and it would be so cool if
it blossomed into something bigger, but I'm perfectly content with it staying as my own little quirk. Well I guess I shouldn't say "my",
many others are apparently seeing them too.
